| | The head of Republic Karelia Sergey Katanandov held a working meeting with the General Consul of Germany in S.Peterburge Mr. Rajnhart Kraus. The meeting took place within the framework of visit of the General Consul to Karelia. The basic purpose of arrival of German delegation - opening of Days of Germany in Petrozavodsk, acquaintance to Karelia, to heads of republic and Petrozavodsk.
At a past meeting the sides exchanged the opinions on situation in trade and economic relations between Germany and republic Karelia. In opinion of the head of Karelia and the General Consul, these territories have a mutual interest and there is a desire to cooperate not only in the field of culture and art.
Sergey Katanandov told about display of interest of the large European companies to joint business - projects in republic, in particular, in the field of wood-processing and sphere of development of tourism. " The European community should not to be afraid to invest in the Russian economy. The friendship should be supported with concrete affairs ", - S.Katanandov told.

Support of culture of small peoples,
Development of a frontier infrastructure,
Construction of roads and prospects of easing of a visa mode concerning the Russian citizens.
Mister Kraus expressed against visa restrictions for citizens of any countries and customs obstacles for businessmen.
