Founded in 1999.
The Moscow Chamber of Crafts is established within the framework of realisation of the law of Moscow city " About Craft Activity in the City of Moscow ".
Its legal form is a non-profit partnership.
Founders of the Chamber are Moscow City Government , Russian Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry , Moscow Committee of Education, all the city structures of small business support, craft firms and outstanding handicraft masters.
The basic objectives of the Chamber are:
- assistance to members of the partnership in realisation of the city policy of support and development of small business regarding workmanship,
- representation of interests of members of the Chamber in bodies of the city local government,
- rendering assistance to handicraftsmen in their activity,
- protection of rights and legitimate interests of handicraftsmen,
- assistance to vocational training and improvement of professional skill of handicraftsmen,
- development of methodical recommendations on rendering assistance in activity of guilds of handicraftsmen and centers of crafts,
- creation of the qualifying commissions and assignment of ranks to masters,
- creation of system of issue and registration of personal brands of handicraftsmen,
- monitoring of the list of craft trades,
- development of draft legal acts regulating features of craft activity and submitting them to relevant bodies.
